North Fulton Hospital proudly presents A Woman of Heart, a celebration of women preventing, battling, and overcoming heart disease.  The event will take place in the Hospital Atrium on Thursday, February 18th from 5:30-7 pm.

With all of the medical advances over the years, cardiovascular disease remains a problem in the United States.  According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease ranks first among all disease categories in hospital discharges for women.  In addition, nearly 37 percent of all female deaths in America occur from cardiovascular disease [Cardiovascular disease includes coronary heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases].  Unfortunately, many still do not see that cardiovascular disease is a real problem for women.

North Fulton Hospital is working to help prevent heart disease among women in the community.  A Woman of Heart will feature

  • An encouraging presentation by a North Fulton internal medicine physician on women and heart health
  • heart healthy cooking demonstrations with Harry’s Farmers Market chefs
  • a Wear Red fashion show with the Unique Boutique in Roswell and the Roswell Woman’s Club
  • Helpful information from the American Heart Association
  • And free blood pressure checks with a North Fulton Hospital nurse

Like all programs in the This is My Year Healthy Seminar Series with North Fulton Hospital and Harry’s Farmers Market, this program is free but registration is required.

Please call 770-751-2660 or click on the 'Find an Event' tab to the left.  Search the 'Community Calendar' section to register.
