Acute Stroke Care & Rehabilitation

Our coordinated team of professionals is involved in the care of the stroke patient from admission until discharge. Upon the arrival of a new patient, the team works diligently to develop and implement a customized plan of care quickly. This involves therapy services that are initiated early in order to optimize return of function.

Our Center has over 100 nurses and therapists trained in Advanced Stroke Life Support. Nurse case managers coordinate the services and assist with moving the patient to the next level of care. Our stroke coordinator evaluates and meets with patients and their family during the hospitalization to discuss the plan of care and to emphasize secondary stroke prevention.

Stroke Rehabilitation  -
Our 33-bed Comprehensive Acute Rehabilitation Unit provides a full range of inpatient rehabilitation services and is designed to assist patients who need further rehabilitation and education before returning home or to the community. We recognize that family education and training is an important component in preparing the patient for discharge from the hospital. Support groups are available to patients and family members as part of the ongoing continuum of care, and rehabilitation may continue through our outpatient therapy program.
