Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC) announced today that North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell has been selected to the company’s 2008 Circle of Excellence.
The Circle of Excellence honors those Tenet hospitals that have performed at the highest levels in the past year in the areas of quality, service and operation performance. Key factors involved in the process include patient, physician and employee satisfaction scores, clinical quality scores and financial performance.
“The hard work and dedication of the employees at North Fulton Regional Hospital made 2007 a great year for the hospital,” said Stephen Newman, M.D., Tenet’s chief operating officer. “I’m proud of all that they accomplished and am thrilled to honor them with Tenet’s Circle of Excellence Award.”
Dr. Newman also praised the hospital executive team, led by Chief Executive Officer Joe Austin, for their hard work and leadership in the past year. “Health care is a business that requires dedication, passion and strong leadership skills to achieve positive results. The executive team, employees and vitally important medical staff at North Fulton Regional Hospital performed incredibly well in 2007, and I congratulate them on their successes.”
Austin, Chief Operating Officer Ilona Wozniak, former Chief Financial Officer Jon Zilkow and Chief Nursing Officer Linda Scholfield helped lead the hospital to the highest balanced scorecard metrics in Tenet’s Southern States region for high scores in quality, service and people.

In addition to winning the Tenet Circle of Excellence Award, North Fulton Medical Center received awards from the Georgia Hospital Association for quality and patient safety; and infection control and prevention. The hospital was also designated a Certified Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission and received the American Heart Association’s Get With the Guidelines designations for stroke and heart failure.
North Fulton Regional Hospital, a 202-bed acute care hospital, serves North Georgia communities through its team of over 1,000 employees, 400 physicians and 175 volunteers. Among North Fulton’s key services are neurosurgery, orthopedics, general surgery, rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging, emergency/trauma and women’s services.
