NFRH CEO Joe Austin, Board Member Jerry Orlans, Board Chairman Don Howard and Board Member Brandon Beach cut the ribbon for the new 58,000 square foot patient tower.

Almost two years of construction and facility planning culminated on Thursday, September 6, as North Fulton Regional Hospital cut the ribbon on the new, 58,000 square foot patient tower. This expansion takes the hospital from 167 beds to 202, an increase of approximately 20 percent.

North Fulton Regional Hospital CEO Joe Austin spoke to a crowd that included public officials, hospital board members, physicians, community members and hospital staff. Following the address and ribbon cutting, attendees of the ceremony enjoyed a guided tour of each new area, including the nine new operating suites, recovery unit, and critical care floor, which combines the critical care, intensive care and neuro intensive care units that were once separate entities.

North Fulton Regional Hospital Director of Neurosciences Katja Bryant served as a critical care floor tour guide. “The combination of these three critical care units should provide greater efficiency within the hospital, allowing us to deliver higher quality care to patients,” said Bryant. “And the convenient location directly above the new surgical suites provides for easier access and transition of patients.”
