Kathy Young Named Chief Nursing Officer of North Fulton Regional Hospital

Joanna Stotter
October 10, 2008

North Fulton Regional Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathy Young, RN, to the position of Chief Nursing Officer.

Kathy began her career in healthcare 25 years ago as a staff nurse in California. Within one year, she was promoted to an orthopedic charge nurse position and later served in other charge positions, including coronary care and PACU. The leadership and drive she exhibited in these positions eventually led to her selection as a nursing supervisor.

Expanding her hospital service from the west coast in California, Kathy also found herself in hospitals in New York. She assumed such responsibilities as Quality Management Coordinator, Manager of Wellness Programming, Interim Assistant Administrator of Patient Care Services, and Director of Infection Control.

Kathy joined the North Fulton Regional Hospital team in 2004, initially as the Infection Control Practitioner. In 2006 she was promoted to Director of Quality Management. Under her leadership, the hospital worked toward and achieved numerous quality distinctions, including an award-winning project resulting in a 95 percent reduction in the rate of Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia. Her drive for excellence has helped to elevate the hospital’s standing in the community and the healthcare industry as a whole.

The administration, employees and medical staff of North Fulton Regional Hospital congratulate Kathy Young on this appointment and look forward to the leadership she will continue to provide.
