As the community expands, so does the need for additional physicians and specialists. In response to this growing need, Rock Bridge Surgical Institute, LLC, is proud to welcome Dr. Anita Qureshi to the surgical team. A Board Certified General Surgeon, Dr. Qureshi joins Rock Bridge Surgical Institute, LLC, and the medical staff of North Fulton Regional Hospital.

Dr. Qureshi comes to the North Fulton area from Hackettstown, New Jersey where she served in group practice and as a medical staff physician for Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alabama and completed her medical school training at the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine. Dr. Qureshi then proceeded to Emory University in Atlanta where she completed both her internship and residency. During her tenure at Emory University, the department of surgery established the Emory Endosurgical Center, the Winship Cancer Institute, and the Avon Breast Cancer Center at Grady Hospital, giving Dr. Qureshi advanced training in all these areas.

Dr. Qureshi started private practice surgery in 2000 and is a member of several organizations, including the American College of Surgeons. She has been recognized for her expertise in General Surgery through various print, radio, and television interviews, and while in New Jersey, Dr. Qureshi participated regularly on local radio shows as a surgical consultant. The BBC also recognized her efforts in leading a surgical team during the Southeast Asia Earthquake in September 2005.

Dr. Qureshi is also the recipient of many awards and distinctions. She was listed as a Top Doctor of 2002 by the Center for the Study of Services, a non-profit organization based out of Washington DC. Later, in the March/April 2003 edition of Atlanta Women’s Magazine and in New Jersey Magazine in 2005, Dr. Qureshi was listed as the General Surgery recommendation for Top Atlanta Doctors. She received the Legion of Honor Award from the Chapel of Four Chaplains and recognition as the Soroptomist Woman of Distinction in 2006.

Rock Bridge Surgical Institute is a general surgery practice located at 11685 Alpharetta Highway, Suite 320, adjacent to North Fulton Regional Hospital, in Roswell, Georgia. Established in 2007, Rock Bridge is comprised of three board certified general surgeons who provide a range of surgical services. Areas of expertise include basic and advanced laparoscopy, major abdominal, oncology, endocrine, hernia and hepatobiliary procedures, and breast care.
