What is the Bariatric Center?
The Bariatric Center at North Fulton Regional Hospital provides a comprehensive approach to weight loss that consists of two parts: medical weight loss and surgical weight loss. Our team includes health care professionals from a number of disciplines. We believe that before patients can be successful, they must first learn about their options for weight loss, including surgery.
We provide a proactive support system that is tailored to you. Obesity has psychological and social consequences in addition to health consequences. These may include discrimination, reduced self esteem and an overall decrease in your quality of life. Our goal is to help you achieve total well being and lasting results. In order to achieve this goal, you need to be ready mentally as well as physically for weight loss treatment.
Your first step in achieving your weight loss goal is to complete a broad assessment to determine your needs and readiness. This evaluation is done by a team of trained health care professionals. For the surgical approach, the evaluation also includes psychological and psychosocial testing plus a nutrition and exercise evaluation.
