North Fulton Regional Hospital announced today that it will open a new outpatient endoscopy suite in September. The new endoscopy area will be located on the third floor of the 2500 Hospital Boulevard medical office building on the hospital’s main campus. The new suite will provide added convenience for both patients and physicians.
The new 3,500-square-foot suite consists of three exam rooms, Olympus physician dictation stations with computerized reporting, a centrally located nurses’ station, patient recovery bays and a comfortable waiting area for patients and families. “This new endoscopy suite was designed with ease of use in mind, both for the patient and the physician,” says Rhonda Perkey, operative services director, “with the goal of providing a high level of service to both.”
The new outpatient suite will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Convenient parking is available in the adjacent parking deck, making access to the new area much more convenient for patients arriving for an outpatient endoscopy procedure.
The addition of the new outpatient endoscopy rooms also provides for added efficiencies in the hospital’s surgical services area. One inpatient endoscopy suite will be maintained for hospital patients requiring exams. The other existing suite is being reconfigured to move the hospital’s mobile lithotripsy unit into the main building.
