SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – May 30, 2003 – Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC) announced today that North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell, Ga., and its chief executive officer John Holland have been selected to the company’s 2003 Circle of Excellence.  The annual award recognizes outstanding performance by the hospital and the CEO in a number of key areas, including achievements in patient care and customer service, improvement in quality and clinical processes, and dedication to ethics and compliance.

"John's outstanding vision, energy and leadership have helped North Fulton Regional Hospital become a critical component of the health care delivery system in its community," said Trevor Fetter, Tenet's acting chief executive officer and president. "Under his leadership, North Fulton is focused on becoming the best place to work, best place to practice medicine and best place to receive care. John is a thoroughly deserving recipient of our company's highest award for CEOs."

Holland is a seven-time winner of the Circle of Excellence Award.  He and his team worked very hard this year and it shows in the hospital’s significant improvement in operations.  Holland has shown tremendous focus on service and quality, which is demonstrated in increased satisfaction scores in all areas.

Tenet’s divisional and regional executives nominate candidates for the Circle of Excellence from the hospitals they supervise. Winners are selected based on both objective criteria, such as patient, physician and employee satisfaction scores, and subjective evaluations.
